Tata Motors has finally unveiled the new model of Tata Safari 2012 officially called the Tata Safari Storm (aka Merlin, as we know it for many months) at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi India on 5th January 2012. The Tata Safari Storm is improved over the previous generation Safari in many ways. The new Safari is not only a facelift, but also feature changes, improved transmission and performance SUV to compete with modern SUVs which are threatening its place in the market. The new Safari has a new grille, new HID Projector headlamps, power budge on the bonnet, new chrome tipped dual-exhaust system, new stylish rood rails in aluminum finish, new spoilers with better aesthetics and aerodynamics, new side footsteps and side cladding. The Safari Storm looks more sportier, more elegant and pleasing.

Tata Safari Storm 2012 Specifications and Features
The new Safari Storm is powered by a 2.2 Litre 16 valve CRDI Diesel engine with peak power of 140 BHP and peak torque of 320 Nm. The engine has a variable geometry turbocharger for better performance. The powertrain has a 5 speed manual transmission system with a 4X4 All wheel drive which can be electronically be shifted on-the-fly even while the SUV is moving. It has a turning radius of just 5.4 meter which is quite small for its class. The ground clearance is 200 mm for better off-roading capabilities. On the features front. Safari Storm comes loaded with electrically adjustable ORVMs, reverse parking system.
