Ford EcoSport India Launch By 2012 End- Production Model Showcase In Brazil and China

FordEcoSportPreview_02Ford’s latest compact SUV Ford EcoSport is eagerly awaited. Although we have seen the concept model at the 2012 Auto Expo, what is still unseen is the car’s interiors. Now there are a couple of news that will definitely interest our readers of which the first one is that Ford could be showcasing the production model of the EcoSport in Brazil. BahiaEveryDay reports that Ford will conduct a media drive for journalists at an event at Barra Lighthouse in Salvador on 22nd April.
The second news, which again is not confirmed officially is that on 23rd of April, Ford could showcase the production model at the Beijing Motor Show. So for two consecutive days EcoSport production model will be in front of the experts and this is indeed great as we would finally get to see the interiors of the car.

The production model would come with a bunch of interesting features of which some are listed below:
  • Seven airbags
  • Electric Sunroof
  • Multifunction steering wheel(steering mounted controls)
  • ESP(Stability Control)
  • ABS
Engine options include 1.6 litre TDCi and a 1.0 litre EcoBoost unit. Ford EcoSport India Launch will take place with 2011 Ford Fiesta’s 1.5 litre diesel engine. As far as the pricing is concerned, we have mentioned this a couple of times, Ford will price the car in the range of Rs. 8 – Rs. 10 lakhs which is inexpensive considering the fact that you will get a solid, fuel efficient SUV at the price of a sedan.

Coming to third and most interesting news, Ford is expected to launch the Ecosport sub-4 meter SUV by the end of 2012 or early 2013. The clearance of the car has been kept appreciably high so as to avoid the irregularities on the terrain you are moving on. Overall, the looks are quite killing and undoubtedly it is better looking than the Renault Duster, which will be launched by the end of the year.
Even we are excited to see the launch of the Ecosport and do not want to miss it.
