Maruti Ertiga LUV Launched In India– Price, Pictures, Features And All Details

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has unveiled its MPV called the Maruti Ertiga LUV (Lifestyle Utility Vehicle) globally at the Auto Expo 2012. The launch of Maruti Ertiga LUV took place on 12th April 2012 in New Delhi India. Maruti Suzuki has launched the Ertiga at a very lucrative introductory price of Rs. 5.89 Lakhs for entry level petrol and goes up to Rs. 8.45 Lakhs for top end ZDi Diesel engine Ertiga LUV. The Ertiga is the production version of the Maruti R3 Concept which we reported to you from Auto Expo 2010 two exactly years back. This is a made in India and Designed in India MPV with comfortable three row of seats and pleasant interiors with sufficient space and quality for a comfortable commuter with a large family, a group of friends or for other people carrier purposes. It has a mysterious resemblance with Maruti Ritz hatchback or Maruti Swift specially from front, but its an all new and longer car built on Maruti Swift Platform.
Ertiga is the first car in the Maruti Suzuki India portfolio to be powered by the brand new advanced K-series 1.4 litre Petrol VVT engine. Ertiga is also available with the successful 1.3 litre DDiS Superturbo VGT Diesel engine.

Maruti Ertiga LUV / MPV Features, Specifications, Pictures and Details

Maruti Ertiga LUV comes in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a K Series Suzuki engine and the diesel is a Multi-jet diesel which propels the LUV quite efficiently. The interiors are beige and give an upmarket feel with large AC vents for rear passengers mounted on the roof just before the second row of seats. The plastics of the car are also beige and light colour tone give feeling of added space. The dashboard design is also attractive with an integrated two-din audio system in the central console. There is a sporty gear knob like the SX4 and a 3 spoke steering wheel on the Ertiga which also happens to be beige in colour.

It comes with completely folding seats in the middle and last row to make a lot of interior luggage space. The middle seats can be moved down to allow space for rear passengers from both left and right side. It comes with steering mounted audio controls, Integrated audio system with USB, Aux input. Comes equipped with dual SRS airbags, ABS and EBD for safety. There is lot of small cubby holes and storage for water bottles at all three rows. The outside rear view mirrors come with turn indicators and are electrically adjustable from inside. There are four power windows and rear windshield is equipped with de-fogger, rear washer and wiper. The alloy wheel design, side profile, front grille and tail gate are all elegantly designed keeping in mind the modern outlook and aesthetics. The build quality of the car and the interior quality is better than average for a Maruti car. It seems to have all the right ingredients of a good MPV for 7 adults.

The K series petrol engine is 1.4 liter K14 VVTI engine which produces maximum power of 70KW or 95PS @ 6000 RPM and maximum torque of 130Nm @4000 RPM. It gives class leading fuel efficiency of 16.02KMPL. The diesel engine is turbocharged DDIS engine with 66KW or 90 PS of peak power @ 4000 RPM and 200Nm of torque @ 1750 RPM. It also delivers class leading mileage in its segments which is 20.77KMPL.
