Yamaha has chosen to give minor updates to the FZ and FZ-S as lately it was the R15 Version 2.0 and Fazer which had got updates with special colours being offered. The Yamaha FZ16 and the Yamaha FZ-S are powered by a 153cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder petrol engine which produces 14 BHP of power at 7500 RPM and 14 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, which is butter smooth to operate. The air-cooled engine has 2-valves and the FZ sports very wide 140 section tyres at the rear.
The Yamaha FZ bikes don’t really need any update but the above ones are welcome. However Yamaha should consider incorporating more features in the FZ motorcycles such as rear disc brakes and better headlamps. This will help the Japanese automaker to compete with the upcoming onslaught of launches from Bajaj Auto.
