Essential Qualifications for the post of Assistant Professor / Lecturer :
- Good academic record with atleast 55% marks ( 50% for candidates belonging to SC / ST or those who passed their Master’s degree prior to 19.9.91 and hold a Ph D. degree ) or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point Scale with letter grades O.A.B.C.D.E & F at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.
- Candidates should have qualified the National Eligibility Test ( NET ) for Assistant Professors / Lecturers conducted by the UGC’ CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC.
Note : A relaxation of the minimum marks at the Post Graduate level from 55% to 50% may be provided to the candidates who have cleared the JRF Examination conducted by the UGC / CSIR only prior to 1989. when the minimum marks required to appear for JRF Examination were 50%.
For B.EI. Ed. :
- One post is for Psychology with essential qualification – M.A. ( Psychology ) or Applied Psychology ( with specialisation in Clinical Psychology / Counselling / M.S.W. ( with specialisation in Personality Development & Counselling ) & Post graduate degree / research in Education.
- One post in Social Science with essential qualification – M.A. Social Science and post graduate professional degree in Education.
- One post each in Physical Science with M.Sc. in Physical Sciences and post graduate professional degree in Education
- One post each in Biological Science with M.Sc. in Biological Sciences and post graduate professional degree in Education.
- One post in Education with M.A. in Philosophy and post graduate degree in Education / professional degree in Education / M. A Social Science / M. Sc. Science and post graduate professional degree in Education.
- One post in Language Hindi or English with M.A. in English or Hindi and post graduate professional degree in Education.
General Conditions for Assistant Professor and Lecturer Jobs :
- NET / SLET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Lecturer / Assistant Professor; provided however, that candidates who are or have been awarded PhD degree in compliance of the University Grants Commission ( Minimum Standards and procedure for awards of M.Phil. / Ph.D degree ). Regulations. 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET / SLET.
- Any relaxation in the prescribed qualification can be made only by the UGC in a particular subject in which NET is not being conducted or enough number of candidates are not available with NET qualification.
- A relaxation of 5% marks from ( 55% to 50% ) at Master’s degree level to the persons with Disability ( PWD ) shall be granted for the post of Lecturer / Assistant Professor in terms of Executive Council Resolution No. 37 (2) dated 1.5.2003
- The qualification and other service conditions shall be such as prescribed by the University of Delhi / UGC from time to time.
- The candidates applying under PWD category may specifically mention in their application main category to which they belong i.e. UR / SC / ST / OBC for the purpose of computing the Reservation.
- The candidates applying under PWD category are required to submit the Disability Certificate in the format prescribed by Government of India . department of Personnel and Training vide O.M. No. 360 35/3/2004 – Estt ( Res ) dated 29 12.2005. The format is available at the website : www.persmin.nic.in.
- The candidates already in service must apply through proper channel.
