Head Constable (Telecommunication) : 275 posts, Pay Scale : Rs. 5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs. 2400/-
Constable (Telecommunication) : 15 posts, Pay Scale : Rs. 5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs. 2000/-
Constable (Animal Transport) : 120 posts, Pay Scale : Rs. 5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs. 2000/-
Fee : Rs.50/-in form of Central Recruitment Fee Stamp (CRFS)/ IPO/ Bank Draft in favour of Inspector General, North-West Frontier, ITBP, Payable at – SBI- AFS Chandigarh Code No – 1495. No fee will be charged from SC/ST and Ex-servicemen candidates.

General Instructions:

2. for which last date is 03.05.2012. a) Pay Scale i) Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication) PB-2, Rs 9300-34800+Grade Pay Rs. 4200 per month ii) Head Constable (Telecommunication) PB-I- Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2400/- per month. iii) Constable (Telecommunication) PB-I- Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2000/- per month. iv) Constable (Animal Transport) PB-I- Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2000/-
3. 10% of the vacancies in each category are reserved for Ex-Servicemen, Except for the post of Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication). ii) 4.5% of the vacancies in OBC category shall be reserved for Minority Communities who are included
4. Head Constable (Telecommunication) Between 18 to 25 years 10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics having aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized board or university
5. Constable (Telecommunication) Between 18 to 23 years (i) Essential: Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent (ii) Desirable: Diploma or Certificate Course from an Industrial Training Institute or any other recognized Institution Constable
6. In case of all persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01st day of January 1980 to the 31st day of December 1989. Ex-Servicemen:- An Ex-serviceman, who has put in not less than six months continuous service in the Armed Forces, shall be allowed to deduct

15. Qualifying marks in written examination shall be 35% for General Candidates & Ex-Servicemen and 33% for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes /Other Backward Class.
16. Interview (For Sub-Inspector, HC and CT (Telecommunication) only)- 10 Marks:- The candidates who qualify the written examination will be put through an interview to check personal bearing, response, aptitude and general level of intelligence etc.
17. i) A candidate declared unfit in detailed medical examination, if not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an appeal for his re-medical examination with duly filled Medical Fitness Certificate in the prescribed proforma
18. The appeal should be submitted within 15 days from the date of rejection to the concerned authority at the address given in rejection slip. The appeals received after 15 days will not be entertained. ITBP will not be responsible delay in postal transit.
19. All eligible candidates will be duly informed about the date and venue of the recruitment tests through admission card. Candidates should come duly prepared for 2-3 or more days stay

Indo-Tibetan Border Police was conceived on October 24, 1962.ITBP was initially raised under the CRPF Act, however in 1992, the parliament enacted the ITBPF Act and rules there under were framed in 1994( you may access same under relevant menu) . ITBP is a multi-dimensional force. Presently Battalions of ITBP deployed on Border Guarding Duties from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh covering 3488 KM of India China Border are manning Border Out Posts at an altitude ranging from 9000’ to 18500’ in the Western, Middle & Eastern Sector of India China Border. ITBP is basically a mountain trained Force and most of the officers & men are professionally trained Mountaineers and Skiers,. They have scaled more than 140 Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest three times ( Recent successful expedition in May, 2006), besides ITBP batallions are also deployed on CI OPS / IS / VIP security duties at Chamba – Doda border, in VA/Startegic locations and with VIPs in Delhi and VIPs in Srinagar J&K. The border posts manned by ITBP are exposed to high velocity storms, snow blizzards, avalanches, and landslides, besides the hazards of high altitude and extreme cold, where temperature dips up to minus 40 degree Celsius. ITBP conducts Long Range and Short Range patrols to keep an effective vigil on inaccessible and unmanned areas on the border.
