Engagement of Technical Assistants :

The Directorate of Tobacco Development ( DTD ), Chennai proposes to engage two Technical Assistants for monitoring Accelerated Pulses Production Programme ( A3P ) and regular National Food Security Mission ( NFSM ) activities.

Terms of Reference and Other Activities regarding Engagement of Technical Assistants :

1. Background
   Vide letter No.20-2 / 2010 – NFSM ( CAV ) dated 22/06/2010 of the Director ( Crops ), Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture ( DAC ), New Delhi conveyed the decision of the Government of India regarding engagement of Two Technical Assistants ( TA ) for monitoring the implementation of National Food Security Mission ( NFSM ) activities.
2. Duties of Technical Assistants :
   • To assist the Authority and the Technical Officers of the Directorate for overall monitoring of Accelerated Pulse Production Programme ( A3P ) activities related to NFSM.
   • Collection and compilation of relevant information related to NFSM.
   • Collection, scrutiny and compilation of progress report of NFSM.
   • To maintain relevant records / data of the NFSM activities.
   • To undertake field visits to assess the progress of NFSM and related activities.
   • To undertake other works assigned by the Authority and the Technical Officers as and when required.
3. Qualifications / Experience required for Technical Assistants :
   Essential for Technical Assistant Jobs : 
   • Masters Degree in Agricultural Sciences ( M.Sc. Ag. ) from a recognized University / Institute.
   • Knowledge of computer operation.
   • Persons with field experience will be given preference
4. Age Limit for Technician Jobs :
   The Age limit of TAs, NFSM will be 21 – 35 years. Age will be computed as on 1st May, 2010.
5. Mode of Recruitment for Technician Jobs :
   The selection of the candidate will be made on the basis of an interview / personal talk by the Selection / Expert Committee constituted for the purpose.
6. Constitution of Selection / Expert Committee for TA :
   • Director, Directorate of the concerned Crop Directorate – Chairman
   • A reputed technical expert ( preferably a Professor of SAU / Principal Scientist of ICAR ( even retired ) – Member
   • Representative from the NFSM cell of DAC ( to be nominated by the Ministry ) – Member
7. Period of Contract :
   Engagement of TA will be made purely on contractual basis for a maximum period of 12 months which is extendable upto a maximum period of 31.03.2012 ( end of the 11th Plan ). The engagement will not confer upon the concerned TA any right for regularization of his / her service in the organization or any other agency in future. The engagement of the TA may be terminated by the authority at any time without assigning any notice and any reason even before the expiry of the contract period.
8. Remuneration :
   The TA will be engaged with a consolidated monthly remuneration of 15000 / -. He / she will not be entitled for any other allowances. However, he / she will be eligible for TA / DA for undertaking official tours, if any, in connection with the implementation of the scheme, at par with “Group B” ( Non – Gazetted ) officers of Central Government and as per TA / DA rules prevalent in Government of India.
9. Special Condition :
